0033 easy day today. We left Callabash early so
we could transit shallow areas at Shallot Inlet and Lockwoods Folly near high
tide. Winds still strong but not like yesterday. It would have been dicey to go
through there yesterday in strong wind and low tide so we made the right call.
We have stopped at South Harbor Marina near Southport, probably until Monday
Dockmate
More info on boat next to us on dock coming. At dinner
now at the Dead End Saloon - yes sir
We were curious about the boat docked behind us here at the marina so we inquired.
It is a salvage vessel and its hailing port is Tarpon Springs, Fl. Currently it is working on a salvage operation 40 miles offshore and are extracting copper ingots that were used as ballast on the vessel that sank. When they are not working on that they go to Nicaragua to salvage large logs from the water there!!? Dock master said you can google the boat and that they have an interesting website.

Had a nice meal in the Dead End Saloon. Good food and pleasant happy ambience.
Cheers, Sue
